Gustavo “Gus” Mendiola is a 22-year U.S. Army veteran and the founder of Double Time Firearms. After a long career serving his country, Gus turned his passion for responsible gun ownership and training into a business focused on better serving the firearms community in San Antonio and across South Texas.

As both the company owner and lead product designer, Gus works one-on-one with shooters to develop custom solutions for home defense, competition, and training. He enjoys helping new shooters gain confidence, understand their equipment, and choose the right tools for their goals.

When he’s not in the workshop, you’ll find Gus on the range, regularly competing in matches throughout the San Antonio and South Texas area. His experience as a veteran, competitor, and instructor shapes everything Double Time Firearms builds and stands behind.

Jason Port serves as the Director of Partner Programs for Double Time Firearms, leading efforts to grow the company’s reach and build strong relationships across the firearms and training community. A 10-year U.S. Army veteran with multiple deployments to the Balkans, Jason brings mission-focused discipline and a deep commitment to service to everything he does.

Jason is a certified NRA Range Officer and instructor, with a passion for safety, education, and building confidence on the range. He especially enjoys working with new shooters, guiding them through best practices for safe gun handling and fundamental marksmanship.

Outside of Double Time Firearms, Jason continues to give back by introducing new shooters through his work with the Boy Scouts of America. His dedication to mentorship, youth development, and responsible firearms training makes him a key part of the company’s vision and growth.
